Body shaping after weight loss
Body-contouring surgery to be performed after excessive weight loss corrects the shape of the subcutaneous tissues that support the fat and skin, and removes excess sagging fat and skin. After weight reduction surgery or significant weight loss, the skin and tissues often lose their elasticity and cannot adapt to the newly reduced size of the body. As a result, the severely enlarged skin is no longer supported:
Upper arms may droop, appear full and loose
Breasts may flatten and droop with nipples pointing down
The abdominal region may expand from the sides and back, and a general sagging may occur in this region.
Buttocks, groin and thighs may sag, giving the appearance of sagging pockets in the skin.
As a result of this surgery, the body gets a more normal appearance with smoother contours.
